Working in places that's located at places where people all over the world come and go, you tend to notice certain interesting stuff..
As a Singaporean chinese, we're kinda like in a middle of nowhere... Natives from China struggle in an attempt to speak english (failed of course..) for my sake, thinkin that I can't understand chinese(maybe I'm too tanned?), while people from the western side try to speak every other mother tongue, chinese malay... (thank God no one tried tamil with me yet..)
What's with that? LOL... Don't they go research bout Singapore before dropping by? LoL...
(Heard the Olympic game's opening stated our country's first language as Malay.... Wad's with that???)
Dear tourist: We are trained to understand both english and both our respective mother tongue(depending on our skin color.)
Also... You ever been to the arrival part of the aiport in the morning???? If U did, your should seen the guard dogs, and their trainers from our famed K9 unit!!!!
For those that haven't seen them.. (which I'm sure is the most of you)..... Those dogs look nothing like the K-9 Unit logo... Not all dogs are like the big and scary Rotweilers or Greyhound you see on TV....
Actually, this is why it's so interesing... I haven't actually seen one that even bears it teeth, and growl at every step it takes...
Most of them are like enthusiastic Golden Retrivers or Beagle looking dogs..... You know wad sets this dog apart from us? Not jus cause they need to walk in 4s and we only need 2(that is something we can be proud of).. They actually enjoy every day of their work... Tails wagging, wide eyed kind.... They look so happy (that's usually the opposite for the person holding the leash)... I'm not even sure whether they're really dogs from K-9, or the police jus decided to borrow dogs from SPCA for a walk...
These dogs teach me a little something bout having joy in serving.. though their undeveloped yapping brain may not be able to differentiate between work and play... But.. On the contrary don't we, humans categorized and defined these 2 a little too clearly?
LOL...
The End?
